distileren van allerhande likeuren en elixirs. De auteur (1500-1566), medicus, humanist en
cartograaf, steunde voor de samenstelling van dit werk vooral op de experimenten die rond
1540 door een Napolitaans gezelschap van naturalisten werden opgezet.

Third Dutch edition of this popular compendium of medical and pharmaceutical preparations as well as
recipes for distillation of liquors and elixirs. Ruscelli (1500-1566), physicist, humanist and cartographer,
based his work mostly on the experiments of a scientific society active in Naples c. 1540. Contemporary
limp vellum (slightly soiled). A 17th Century Dutch editon of the same work joint.

philosopher. Edition revised by the French theologian François Vatable (+ 1546), illustrated

decorated with dotted initial letters and printer's mark on the last leaf.

First edition
of one of the earliest collection of alchemical texts compiled by the Italian
doctor and philosopher Grataroli (1516-1568), professor of medicine at Bale University.
Contains works by Grataroli himself, Aristotle, Albertus Magnus, Arnaldus de Villanova,
Ramon Llull, Avicenna, Roger Bacon, Jabir ibn Hayyan, etc. Work in neat typography with
some decorated initial letters.
