Lyon, 1650, cont. gilt calf (spine repaired), covers with gilt central ‘IHS’ ornament within double
ruled border, gilt titled spine on 4 raised bands, marbled edges, mod. marbled endpapers and flylvs
(some minor staining). Nice well-preserved copy.

Latin ms. on paper, c. 17,5 x 12,5 cm, [4]-474 pp. (old numbering; pp. 97-8, 278-9, 358-9, 372-3,
469-470 cut out), skilfully written. Latin rhetoric course given by the Jesuit professor at Lyon Paul
Suffren (d. Aix 1678); written down by the student “A.I.F. Maurier, Lugd. 1650”. Later ms. index at
the end. 3 initial ff. with extensive penwork decoration, as well as pp. 7, 133, 226, 24-5. Some later
ownership entries.
