[Hans Albert EINSTEIN (1904-1973), resté
avec sa mère Mileva, était alors étudiant
à l’École polytechnique de Zurich ; il
deviendra ingénieur, notamment dans le
génie hydraulique, après avoir émigré aux
États-Unis en 1938.]
De retour de Hollande, Einstein l’invite à lui
raconter ses examens, le déménagement et
tout ce qu’il y a à raconter. Il prend le bateau
pour Buenos Aires le 3 mars. Il ne vient
malheureusement plus souvent en Suisse,
car V.B. a repris l’Institut à Paris, où il craint
qu’aient lieu la plupart des réunions. Il suggère
à Hans Albert d’écrire à Anschütz [Hermann
ANSCHÜTZ-KAEMPFE (1872-1931), inventeur
et industriel] à Munich, pour faire un stage l’été
dans son usine : cela lui fera plaisir. Einstein a
excuséMaman auprès d’Ehrenfest [le physicien
Paul EHRENFEST (1880-1933)]. Il a beaucoup
de travail. Piccard [le physicien Auguste
PICCARD (1884-1962)], naguère à Zürich et
maintenant à Bruxelles, va faire pour Einstein
des expériences électriques ayant rapport au
problème du magnétisme terrestre (« Hier gibt
es viel Arbeit. Piccard, der früher in Zürich
war, jetzt in Brüssel wird elekt. Experimente für
mich machen, die mit dem erdenmagnetischen
Problem zusammenhängen. »).

Having returned from Holland, Einstein
asks his son about his exams, the move
and anything else he might have to share.
He is taking a boat to Buenos Aires on 3
March. He no longer comes to Switzerland
regularly because V.B. is working at the Institut
in Paris where the meetings will be held. He
suggests that Hans Albert write to Anschütz
[Hermann ANSCHÜTZ-KAEMPFE (1872-1931),
inventor and industrialist] in Munich, for a
summer internship in his plant. Einstein
formulated excuses on behalf of « Mother »
with Ehrenfest [Paul EHRENFEST (1880-1933),
physicist]. He has a lot of work. Piccard
[Auguste Piccard (1884-1962), physicist],
previously in Zürich and now in Brussels
will conduct electrical experiments tied to
terrestrial magnetism (« Hier gibt es viel
