Impressive
1st ed. printed in France
and
1st ed. entirely printed in “Grecs du Roi”
(but for the
short Latin preface), of the writings of the Greek orator Demosthenes. The ed. was started by
Guillaume Morel in 1558, interrupted by Morel's death in 1564, and finished by Bienné in 1570 and
is based on the edition published in Basel (Hervage, 1532), corrected by G. Morel and J. Du Puys
after comparison of 8 manuscripts of the Royal Library.
87; Schoell II, 259). Mark on title. Jesuit ownership entry on title.
