venir dimanche et regarder les peintures. Il le
prie de lui renvoyer la
Little White Girl,
car les
collectionneurs voudraient l’avoir à nouveau
chez eux, et Whistler voudrait le voir d’abord…

“Your note only reached me this morning, as
you had not put Chelsea upon it…I am sorry
not to have been to the soirée as I should
have been able on Saturday to manage it
and I want much to see you and hear about
Paris. I hope also you have some news of
the people we know there. You had better
come down here on Sunday at about half
past 2 if you can and look at the pictures
and tell me many things. Meanwhile will you
kindly send me if you can the ‘Little White
Girl’. They want her at home again and I am
curious to look at her myself first…”
