(marges besnoeid, vochtvlekken, laatste blad los). In redelijk goede staat.

Verzameling van zo’n 60, meest religieuze, (gelegenheids)gedichten en enkele liederen, 1778-1796

– vermoedelijk autograaf met correcties. Pieter-Antoon van Heusden (Antwerpen 1738 – Leuven

1797) was jezuïet tot de ontbinding van de orde in 1773, werd dan kartuizer, tot ook die orde in 1783

werd opgeheven. Een selectie van zijn verzen werd gepubliceerd door P.-C. Cassier (Antwerpen

1856). Achteraan bijgevoegd: planodruk (beschadigd) met een gedicht voor de intrede van Joanna

de Becker bij de Witte Vrouwen te Leuven op 22 oktober 1793.

written in brown ink (some dampstaining). In good condition.

Cecchini?), and other texts, i.a. a Latin treatise on letter-writing.

paper, c. 32 x 21 cm, mod. quarter vellum binding, flat spine titled in ink, 199 [of?] ff. (incl. 3

blanks; text inc. at end; fore-edge soiled and frayed, worming in inner margin of a few quires, some

ff. in 2nd half partly torn off with loss of text), written in black ink with keywords in red. A few

smaller sheets with additional notes bound with. Good condition.

including, of course, the year 1302.

Latin fragment, vellum bifolium, c. 19,4 x 29 cm, 26 ll, 1st letters of each line and larger initials

rubricated. Taken from a binding: one p. hardly legible, loss at bottom margin of 1 f., some worming

and holes, 1 f. discoloured. In reasonably good condition.

Interesting bifolium from a manuscript of the major school text of the Middle Ages: a versified

Latin grammar composed by the French Franciscan Alexander de Villadei (Villedieu-les-Poêles,

Normandy, c. 1175-1250). Present are ll. 877-980 (ed. Reichling, 1893, pp. 59-64 – with many

variants). Used as a school text with very tiny interlinear and marg. student’s notes.

[France?, 2nd half 15th c.], vellum bifolium, c. 31,5 x 47,5 cm, 31 ll., expertly written in a gothic

littera cursiva (marg. staining, holes in blank inner margin). In good condition.

Nice bifolium, containing Bk X, 17-28 of Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics in the Renaissance Latin

version of Leonardo Bruni of Arezzo (1370-1444). This version is preserved in many manuscripts

and early printed editions (e.g. Paris, S. de Colines, 1535: on ff. 38-39). In the margin of 1 p. a

16th-c. hand wrote “In hoc signo vinces” (the famous “IHS”, ascribed by Lactantius to Emperor

Constantine the Great).

Ruled vellum leaf, c. 21 x 15,5 cm, 15 ll., gothic littera currens. Gilt 2-line initial with red and

blue penwork. Rubric in red. Blank line endings filled out in red, yellow or blue. Border decoration

in fore-edge margin with red, blue or green leaves touched with gold. Texts: on f. 1r i.a. quotation

from Psalm 7 and beginning of the Office of the Dead.

Ruled vellum leaf, c. 17,5 x 12 cm, 17 ll.,

littera bastarda. Gilt one- or two-line initials with blue or red penwork. Rubric in red. Blank line

ending filled out in red, yellow and blue. Marginal decoration (on recto only) with small green and

blue leaves touched with gold. Text starting with quotation from Hebrews (3:9-11).
