epitomes of Livius’ work : one of the 140 books and one in four books by the historian
Lucius Annaeus Florus (74-130). With afterwards, the first five books of Polybius, one of
the sources compiled by Livius, translated in Latin from the Greek by the humanist Niccolò
Perrotti (1429-1480). Copy in neat typography with each part preceded by a title-page with
the Aldine mark (anchor and dolphin), another one at the end of Florus’ epitome, and by
indexes (except for Polybius).

Édition originale
(?, seule la BNF mentionne une édition parisienne en 1567) de cette
chronique des rois de France de Pharamond à Charles IX. Illustré de 61 portraits en
médaillons (celui de Charles Martel n’ayant jamais été gravé) pour la plupart repris, et
remaniés, de l’“Epitome gestorum duodesexaginta regum Franciae” de G. Guéroult paru
en 1546. Certains, dont Barbier, attribuent le texte à l’avocat et historien Georges Bernard,
auteur du sonnet aux lecteurs mais selon Baudrier et la BNF, il serait plus vraisemblablement
de l’éditeur Baudin. Titre et texte entièrement cerné d’un encadrement ornementé, lettre
historiée à la dédicace et vignette de l’éditeur sur le titre.

Collection of letters, poems, epitaphs and orations of the Italian female scholar Morata
(1526/1527-1555) edited by her friend, the rhetorical professor Celio Secondo Curione
(1503-1569). The letters deal mostly with religion and overall protestantism as Morata
converted to the Reformed religion. Followed by a selection of letters and orations of
Curione and translations of Esopius and Boccaccio by Marcus Antonius Paganutius.
With an epitaph to Morata encircled with a decorated frame figuring among others the
allegories of Germany and Italy on the sides. Text with ornemental initial letters, some
