Rare seconde édition (éd. orig. : 1540) de cet ouvrage à la gloire de Marie par le
théologien dominicain Doré (1500?-1559), confesseur de Claude de Lorraine et Antoinette
de Bourbon. Lettrines ornementés et vignettes identiques sur le titre ainsi qu’au verso du
dernier feuillet figurant l’auteur à genoux offrant son livre à la Vierge couronnée tenant
Jésus dans les bras.

half glazed purple calf (slightly yellowed, some handwritten underlinings, notes and corrections, faded

Second edition of the correspondence of religious and humanists published the same
year as the first edition by Paulo Manuzio in Venice. Letters from/to : Benedetto Accolti,
Bernardo Maffei, Pierre Bunel, Pietro Bembo, Lazaro Buonamici, Paul III, etc. Aldine’s mark
on the title-page and another large at the end of the volume.
