le 1er, mention gravée: “Globe terrestre gravé par Fx Delamache succr. de R. de Vaugondy. Gravé
par Barrière frères. Ecrit par Pelicier”. Pas de mention visible sur le 2e. [Paris, Delamarche], 1833.

Rares globes mobiles à ossatures en bois ou carton fort (?) sur lesquelles sont collées les cartes,
gravées sur cuivre sur papier et vernies, aux pourtours lég. rehaussés. Méridiens et tables d’horizon
en bois, pourtours peints en rouge foncé. Noms des mois et signes du zodiaque sur les tables
d’horizon, diverses indications de constellations, étoiles... sur les méridiens. Les globes témoignent
encore d’une vision fin XVIIIe s. du monde, avec p.e. “Nouvelle Hollande” pour l’Australie.
Charles-François Delamarche avait racheté en 1784 le fonds d’atlas et de globes de Robert de
Vaugondy. Son fils Félix lui succéda en 1817 et les activités éditoriales de la maison Delamarche se
poursuivirent tout au long du XIXe s.

few explorers' tracks are depicted. In upper left corner the appearance of the sun according to Mr.
Kircher and upper right corner the moon according to Cassini. -

of the Western Hemisphere, (California as an Island) with 7 medallions illustrating the 7 wonders
of the world. -
Double celestial hemisphere
with a number of other Celestial and Solar models.
