WWV 111. Earlier imprint (April? 1882) of the orig. ed. of this piano score of which there are
several variations. Piano and vocal score. Only 20 copies were lithographed, our copy “eines der in
lithographischen Umdruckverfahren hergestellten Exemplare” without publisher number (23406)
on title and with 2 blank pages between the list of voices and the first music notation.

WWV 86 A. Later imprint (c. 1870) of the first ed. (1861) with Gothic architectural title-page. The
title was criticized by Wagner who demanded to remove and replace it by a simple border. Schott
complied with Wagner's demands and a new title page without illustration, frame or plate number
was published as early as 11 April 1861. This copy with publisher number on all pages and with list
of actors.

about the arrangments which have to be made concerning an upcoming concert “das wir betreffend
die von Ihnen angeregte Tourne... nach London bestimmte Anträge haben”. In that time Webern
worked for the “Verein für musikalische Privataufführungen” guided by von Schönberg.

travaillé avec Jacob, Van Hout et Crickboom (“... nous n’avons fait que pousser des exclamations
d’enthousiasme. Jacob souriait béât! Van Hout levait les yeux au plafond, Crickboom s’emballait et
s’oubliait à jouer - trop fort - ces phrases -solos”). Il souhaite pouvoir jouer 3 oeuvres (“Castillon,
1er quatuor à Cordes, Chausson 2e sextuor, Castillon 3e quatuor avec piano”); il estime qu’Alexis
de Castillon (1838-1873) “joue un des plus grands rôles dans la transformation de la musique en
France” et termine “Est-il bien nécessaire de démolir un établissement vermoulu qui tombera tout
seul un des ces jours? C’est égal, ton Ravacholisme me plaît”.
