Bockenberg (Gouda 1548-1617 Leiden) studied literature and theology in Leuven after having emigrated with his catholic parents from Schoonhoven. As a priest he served in Vienna, Presburg, Prague, München and Milan until he quited priestship and got married in c. 1588.
