Interesting letter in Latin and Dutch from Petrus Faber “Cortracus” (from Kortrijk), a religious
refugee in Norwich, to his son Salomon with i.a. advice and instructions to rent a house (“In de
Violette”) in Ypres, to repay loans etc. The letter halfway changes from Latin to Dutch, and finishes
with Latin again. It gives us a rare glimpse of life in troubled times.
