Second edition of this important illustrated book on tournaments, employing the same cuts of the first of
1530. It is of particular interest for the history of perspective as it contains woodcuts designed by Hieronimus
Rodler, author of the first popularization of Dürer in the
Schön nützlich Büchlin und Underweisung der
Kunst des Messens
(1531). It was printed on his own press in Simmern, a small town southwest of Coblentz.
Rodler’s work is bound together with the second edition of a work on German nobility and tournaments.
