Dans la préface Bianconi fait l’éloge des grands maîtres de la perspective en mentionnant Daniel
Barbaro (pour son édition de Vitruve), Vignola, Dürer, Sirigatti, Pozzo et enfin Bibiena.
Très beau manuscrit qui servit de manuel pour l’enseignement comme l’explique l’auteur dans la
préface.
Remarkable album of perspective views created by Domenico Bianconi, working architect and
scenographer who worked in the tradition of Bibiena ans was professor of perspective at the French
Adademy in Rome. The album, with its twenty watercolours and accompanying text, not only
documents how perspective was used in stage design in the 1700s, but how perspective was taught to
aspiring artists.
