17th-c. copy by F. de Wit (1630-1706) of the famous 1536 engraving by H. Aldegrever (1501-1555/1561). Portrait of the Anabaptists’ leader Johan van Leyden (1509-1536), holding a sceptre, a book and a rolled-up sheet of paper. Collector’s stamp on verso.
