177 à 192), en italien. Couverture de papier dominoté vert et orange. Marque typographique au titre, bandeaux et lettrines gravées sur bois et illustrées. Nombreuses annotations manuscrites marginales anciennes, en italien, tout au long du texte. Parmi les premiers explorateurs d'Amérique du Sud, Pedro Cieza de Leon arrive au Pérou vers 1550. Il est nommé cette même année «Crònista de Indias» pour le compte de la couronne espagnole. RARE malgré son caractère incomplet. RÉFÉRENCE Brunet, II, 67: «Ouvrage rare; il devait avoir quatre livres, mais le premier seul a paru». PROVENANCE «C. Balmont. 1907»; tampon d'une librairie de Palma de Mallorca et mention manuscrite à l'encre datée de 1907; signature manuscrite biffée à l'encre au titre avec mention «Genova. 1613» (Reliure très accidentée, premiers cahiers détachés; 1 page de table est en partie déchirée, quelques trous de vers portant trace de restaurations anciennes, mouillure sur quelques feuillets, rousseurs, brunissements).Cronica del gran regno del Peru', con la descrittione di tutte le provincie, e costumi e riti, [...] Venetia, Per Francesco Lorenzini da Turino, 1560. Typographical mark on title, woodcut and illustrated bands and initials. Numerous early handwritten marginal annotations, in Italian, throughout the text. Among the first explorers of South America, Pedro Cieza de Leon arrived in Peru around 1550. He was appointed that same year "Crònista de Indias" on behalf of the Spanish crown. RARE in spite of its incompleteness. REFERENCE Brunet, II, 67: "Rare work; it was supposed to have four books, but only the first one was published". PROVENANCE "C. Balmont. 1907"; stamp of a bookshop in Palma de Mallorca and handwritten mention in ink dated 1907; handwritten signature crossed out in ink on the title with mention "Genova. 1613" (Binding very damaged, first quires detached; 1 page of table partly torn, some wormholes with traces of old restorations, wetness on some leaves, brownings).
