Belle partie ancienne composée d’exceptionnels ouvrages et manuscrits de médecine de la Bibliothèque Jean Blondelet. Les premières et plus rares éditions de Paré, Fabrici, Paracelse, Cardan, Harvey, Santori, Major, Mersenne, Guillemeau, Larrey… (et un Dürer ayant appartenu à Nostradamus) côtoient une sélection de beaux livres de sciences illustrés du XVIe au XVIIIe siècle, de botanique et zoologie, de littérature du XVIIIe siècle, et de Napoleonica.
Tout ce qui touche à Rimbaud est exceptionnel, comme le sont le manuscrit du poème La rivière de cassis et ses dessins originaux de l’auteur présentés dans ce catalogue aux côtés de manuscrits littéraires d’Apollinaire, Barbey d’Aurevilly, Proust, Breton, Guy Debord, Genet ou Sartre avec un long manuscrit de son roman inachevé La Dernière Chance. Ce catalogue se caractérise par plusieurs lettres d’artistes aussi variés qu’Ensor, Jaguer, Jorn, Pissarro, Redon ou Signac, avec notamment des dessins originaux de Picasso, Bellmer et Saint-Exupéry, ainsi que des manuscrits de musiciens (Berlioz, Liszt) ou de l’inventeur de la photographie, Nicéphore Niépce. D’autres artistes encore sont à l’honneur, avec des livres qu’ils illustrent parfois de dessins originaux : Louise Bourgeois, Buren, Dubuffet, Klimt, Lichtenstein, Man Ray, Miró, Staël ou Vieira da Silva.
