First separate edition of the index
of Hebrew and Greek names (men, women, towns,
people...) of the Bible given with their Latin translations and explanations. It first appeared
in the "Biblia" of Estienne published in Paris in 1527-1528 and was reproduced (with no
significal changes) from 1547 in the Latin and Polyglot Bibles of Plantin. Copy with the
Hebrew and Greek terms in the margins which has to be considered as a technical prouesse
for its very detailed index (more than 200 pp.) in microscopical caracters. Mark on title-page
of the printer and humanist, Robert Estienne (1503?-1559), son of Henri Estienne.
